How to choose a doctor on Psychiatry UK?

I've recently received a link from Psychiatry UK to choose an assessment date and time for an Autism assessment.

On the booking site I can choose from loads of different doctors to do my assessment.

How am I meant to choose? What criteria should I use?

Each doctor has a profile but these have an overwhelming amount of information, much of it irrelevant.

Apologies, my response was written relating to the https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/counselling/england site which offers much better features than psychiatry UK so as Bunny pointed out, they are not applicable here.

I have removed the advice as it seems the company lacks a useful comparison tool.

  • Will the short list be only those you can see in person? If so you can search by location that should narrow the list significantly.

As a quick look at the Psychiatry UK website would have told you, Iain, they work only via online appointments.

You can write and email to them from their profile and ask for a 15 minute trial session so when you end up with a good short list then you can speak to them and see if there is any connection formed in that time.

There's no option to email assessors in advance, or to request "15 minute trial sessions" with one or more shortlisted assessors.

I do wish you'd stop misleading people with misinformation, presented (once again) as facts. It's the very opposite of helpful.
