I get like that when I've been too stressed for too long. I might not even know what's been stressing me. I'm getting better at monitoring my stress levels and stressors, though. I can sometimes look at myself being moody or irritable and tell myself, "This is because you're stressed by A, B and C. You need to do something about that, like get some help, and then you'll feel better. In the meantime, don't do anything stupid like succumb to RSD, because you know that's just waiting to pounce."
I think anyone, ND or NT, can get like that from being too stressed. I've seen an NT get stressed enough to go into full meltdown and a burnout that lasted months. The difference for us NDs is that we are more easily stressed and often by things that wouldn't stress most NTs, so this sort of thing is a more regular occurrence for us.
