Freaky Fungus

Inspired by Zo's incredible Squirrel Post (YEAH!), I wanted to propose my own of amazing mushrooms and toadstools (yes! I know they're the same) I'ce found on walks over the years. I have zero identification skills, but when I find one it's like bumping into a unicorn, beautiful, mysterious and unbelievable

  • Top one is an oyster  but unsure on the rest.

  • I can help. Im not 100 percent sure about the first one or the last one.  but what I can say with 100 percent certainty is that its bracket fungi. photos both above and below arnt allways nesacery  but it can help to have photos of both abouve and below sometimes.  fungi are very diverse.

in case you might find it interesting.

even though fungi have gills not all fungi have gills.

some do like your one in the first photo but some dont.  it depends on the species and family.

when they do have gills gills can also be differant colours so there not allways the same colour.

the lack of  gills underneath fungi can help with identification aswell.

sometimes with some species of fungi they have spores on them aswell  and the spores can also be differant colours.

they can be visable in photos of the underneath of fungi sometimes when they do aswell

you can still identify species of fungi  without it but it can help with identifciation with some  species of fungi.

the abouve of differant species of fungi arnt  allways the same colour as below and  the shape of fungi can also be a identification  feature in differant species of fungi aswell as texture.

not all species need to be taken abouve and below and can be identified with just a picture of the whole organism without photos of abouve or below but it can be helpful sometimes.

with the second one it could be an inside out one so what your seeing is the under neath of the fungi.  with the 3rd the  species could  be jelly ears. it is called that cause they look like jelly ears. the 2nd photo could very well be the same organism as the 3rd photo.
