Moving or staying and fighting

Hiya,

I am writing for an advice...

Due to harassment from my ex-partner I have applied for non molestation order. The case is a bit complicated and it's been going on since the end of 2019. My ex-partner is a father to my daughter and I have a new partner for 3 years now.

I am scared of my ex-partner and I have been thinking about moving a lot.

From on side I want to show my ex partner that enough is enough but from the other side I am petrified and want to move.

What do I do?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • This whole area is a nightmare, I agree with Iain about getting a solcitor involved and going for a restraining order, you say you've applied for a similar thing, are you UK based? Different countries have different ways of doign these things.

You need to gather evidence, log every contact you have with him, phone calls, texts, the lot, I'd hassle them about moving your case forward, maybe a change of solicitor if you feel the one you have now isn't being pro-active enough.

Moving house is an option, but as Iain say's it's not a permanent solution, if your ex is determined he will track you down, I know how scared you must be, how constantly on edge and unable to relax and how exhausting the whole thing is. Have you contacted Womens Aid for advice?

  • Hiya, thank you very much for reply. Yes I am in the UK and I have been supported by few different domestic violence organisations. Lately by National Centre for Domestic Violence. They have helped me to write a statement and apply to court for non molestation order without notice. Unfortunately the Court rejected it and I decided to proceed with on notice non molestation order. I am so scared.

Because the case is complicated I am constantly thinking what should I do? What is the best option for me and my daughter.
