At age 54 myself, I’m against these “advances” in technology even though I initially embraced such “advances” in my teens in the 1980’s and over the years, I’ve come to realise that my grandparents generation’s opposition to technological advances was well founded, given what it can lead to - while these are tools, even more so than in our grandparents time, these tools always can fall into the wrong hands and can be misused for bad purposes, which aside from the Cold War, we realised what could happen during Covid - it’s not as far fetched as it once was for CCTV cameras to be covertly installed in peoples houses and cameras and audio recorders on our phones, iPads and computers to be turned on without our knowledge - this is something that local councils have been wanting to do for years as we sleepwalk towards dystopia
