squirrels

squirrel thread where people can share photos of squirrels specificaly if they want to if they see any squirrels.  or have any old or new photos or both

these 2 wernt taken in the same locations in the uk but thought it would be interesting to add both species that Iv seen and that we have in the uk. one is common and the other is rare and only has a limited distribution in the uk.  there are also black squirrel or white squirrel forms. there less common in the uk  than the typical form the typical form is more likely but can still be seen. even though the typical forms are more common any forms are welcome on the thread not just typical forms.

  • The quality of the following two photos isn't great. They are of two different grey squirrels that my son had rescued from our loft a few years ago.

The first photo was taken towards the end of November 2020, and the second towards the end of January 2021. In the second photo, I had been feeding peanut butter to the squirrel through the bars of the cage.

It should be noted that in the UK, releasing grey squirrels back into the wild is a criminal offence. However, as my son and I rather like squirrels, we couldn't bring ourselves to deal with the squirrels in the way the law states.
