squirrel thread where people can share photos of squirrels specificaly if they want to if they see any squirrels.  or have any old or new photos or both 

these 2 wernt taken in the same locations in the uk but thought it would be interesting to add both species that Iv seen and that we have in the uk. one is common and the other is rare and only has a limited distribution in the uk.  there are also black squirrel or white squirrel forms. there less common in the uk  than the typical form the typical form is more likely but can still be seen. even though the typical forms are more common any forms are welcome on the thread not just typical forms.

  • I don;t have any photos, but I'm lucky enought to live in one of the last red squirrel strongholds and see them quite often, they're shyer than greys and won't come up as close as the greys do, but they're great to see. We're trying to get them more widespread on the island and theres a lot of public support for more areas of the right sort of woodland, not that this has stopped the local council giving permission to cut down some woodland that has one of the larger populations so as holiday lodges can be built, something that has little local support.

    I've seen a very dark brown one with a black tail, theres quite a lot of colour variation, some almost orangutan orange.
