Autism burn out recovery and tips

I am a medical student with autism and have found I am extremely prone to feeling burnt out - resulting in having to take time off. Does anyone have any tips on how they avoid becoming exhausted/overwhelmed as someone with autism in the workplace/university?

  • You can make your employer/university put reasonable adjustments in place so you are not at a disadvantage.  If you are having placements in hospitals you can ask for regular shifts so you can maintain routine. You can also get help for exams like a separate room or longer time allowance.
