  • thanks. I havnt either. I saw it out the window when someone just took me for a quick drive around Stroud  one day.

I got taken for a drive again yesterday I didnt know where I wanted to go when I went out and we were only going to go for a drive.

we got there so we were only going to go for a short walk across the river severn but cause I hadnt been there before I went looking around and exsploreing and seeing if you can walk along actualy down there by it but there wasnt anywhere.

I was thinking of leaveing or something but then I saw some birds they were mainly  black headed gulls in autumn and winter plummage then I saw some birds i havnt seen before and heard them aswell i imedietly recognised them when I saw them through my long lens on my camara.

the river wasnt far away only a foot away and its a natural river. the birds cause they were small did require a long lens and not a short one.

they were Lapwings.  they gather in large flocks during winter and are very distinctive cause of strands of hair that stick up on there head and have black bibs on the chest amoung other id features. there call sounds like peewit so there call is also distinctive aswell. another name for them is peewit aswell cause of there distinctive call.   and they are unlikely to be comfused with any other species. i havnt seen one in real life before so it was my first time seeing them. it was very cold and it was windy aswell but cause it was a new bird i sat on the bench at the inn which is right in front of the river severn outtside on the bank and took pictures of them. i did some filming aswell but to send a film i would have to send it as a gif. i also saw a cornmerant with the black headed gulls
