How was everyone’s Halloween

Hi here a fun post how was everyone’s Halloween? Me I had a nice chill day did some food shopping and bought sweets for the trick or treaters. I then had a nap in the afternoon and then video called my friend. After the call I went for a nice long walk came back fed the dog and cooked food for myself. Sadly loads of trick or treaters walked past but didn’t come to my house so I have a load of sweets. No matter I’m going over my friends tomorrow afternoon spend a few hours with him have a take away and I’ll share the sweets with him. I also spoke to my dad earlier got a bit teary as it’s been a year since he moved to Scotland to be with his new partner, also this month it would have been my parents 35th wedding anniversary and my parents really loved one another but sadly my mum left this planet way to soon and I’m glad my dad has met someone else and she really nice but she not my mum. Anyway I am now watching Harry Potter in my pjs having a quiet evening to myself. So how was everyone else’s Halloween? Did you guys have any trick or treaters knocking? Let me know.

  • Fireworks, here, last night; too.

My online Buddies from Toronto said that every Bank Holiday they have is just an excuse for folk to let off fireworks. The Tragically Hip even made a song, called Fireworks, about Canadians celebrating their Country's win over the USSR in the Ice Hockey World Final in 1972.

Thank God no kids around; if so, they'd rather play rap-the-door.

  • I can still hear the fireworks going off tonight (Sat 2nd Nov) and they are still openly on sale in supermarkets - I wish their sale and use were totally banned, as technically they are explosives - the only year that we had no fireworks was in 2020 because of Covid lockdowns and in some local council areas, there was controls on what people were allowed to buy in supermarkets, like bans on the sale of drink, enforced by the police, with officers deployed to stores - in Ireland this went one step further during Covid as the police officers were armed, to enforce the Covid restrictions, with armed police checkpoints being set up on Irish roads
