Going for walks

Hi thought I try this as a fun discussion what has been the most interesting thing that happened to you out on a walk it can be cute or funny or scary but in a funny way. So yeah today I woke up feeling like yuck anxiety through the roof and I had to get out of the house. I went for a nice walk on my own without my dog as she had a nice walk yesterday and I went to my local park. I went through the game and this tiny black thing came running up to me at first I thought it was a cat no it was a little dog in a red coat. She was beautiful I sat on the ground and made a fuss the dog was loving it I was talking to the owner and she said that the dog just loves running up to people for lots of fuss I asked if the dog was a puppy as she was so small no the dog was getting on in age she was just a very small dog. Normally I find small dogs are snappy aggressive little things but this dog was the complete opposite and it really made my day feel a lot better. So over to you guys now what interesting things have happened to you out on a walk.

  • I remember going back a few years ago when I was walking on one of the little beaches near where I lived thinking and praying about how much I wanted to go to see a certain little valey half way up Wales, but I had no money or no income at the time (Had gone thrpugh another burnout but back then I did not know what they were called and didn't know I was on the spectrum, so each time I hit a severe birnout, I had to hand in my notice and go for around six months to a few years without an income, as without being able to explain what I was gping through, I could not see a doctor, and I could not sign up for another job...)

Anyway. While walking on this beach to de-stress and relax, I was thinking about this valley. My Mum could not afford the petrol to go there and neither could I, but I felt drawn there to have a look.

While I was praying, there in the water right near where I was was a £20 note! (This was before the plastic £20 notes came in).

It was wet, a bit stained and salty but complete, and I dried it out and as I drove a day or two later, I went in to a fuel station and showed them the note asking if I could spend it. They looked and were happy so I put £20 worth of petrol into the car.

    So that was one miracle.

The second came when I drove with my Mum to the valley. We had a lovely time just enjoying this secluded valley with the remains of its mine and a past little railway that served it.  It was a nice relaxing day!

Came back home and I could not believe it. Car fuel gauge was exactly where it was before I had put the £20 worth of petrol in, and it was a big car. A rear wheel drive Volvo.

So two miracles happened on that walk which started put with a thought and a prayer!

  • Your story reminds me of a wonderful Welsh word, Hiraeth, a longing for the hills and valley's of home. I think we all have our own Hiraeth, a place that feels like home, a place where our souls feel young.
