Adult Diagnosis Help (NHS?)

Hello,

Firstly I'd like to apologise if this is something often said or against any guidelines.

I've recently been trying to find more information on an adult diagnosis. I saw my GP and it was the most unhelpful thing I could have done. Zero help. Just a "yes, based on the AQ-10 you likely have it, but we don't have any nearby services to refer you to". And that was it. No formal referral or course of action I should take.

I don't want to pay for a diagnosis, and if I have to do that, I just won't pursue it. I feel that my GP let me down after me working up the courage to speak to someone about it and try and find the pathway to a formal diagnosis.

Does anyone know what I can do from here? Private diagnosis is very expensive and I don't feel like I should have been dismissed based on their lack of knowledge or lack of care to help me explore my options. I don't need a diagnosis, but I would like one to help me feel validated.

Thanks in advance.
