Dear Online Community users,
On 31st October 2024, when the Online Community moves to a new platform, we will be updating our rules. From this date, only people aged 18 or over will be allowed to join and participate in the Online Community.
This change is in line with our current rules, which state that “All rules may be subject to amendments” and helps ensure we comply with the child protection requirements of the Online Safety Act 2023. Discussions in the community can include adult themes, so we are introducing this age restriction to create a safer space for everyone.
If you are under 18, please let us know. You may choose to use other services such as the following which offer support to under 18s:
- The Ambitious Youth Network: A space for autistic young people aged 13-25. You can attend online peer support sessions, join groups, and stay updated on autism-related news and events.
- The Mix: A charity providing free support for under 25s, including a group chat for 11-25 year olds and discussion boards for 13-25 year olds.
- Childline: A free, confidential helpline for under 19s, offering message boards and tools to help with challenging situations.
You can also search for more services in our Autism Services Directory.
Those currently under 18 are welcome to join the Online Community again when they turn 18 and meet the new age requirement.
Our moderation team will monitor posts to ensure compliance, and any users under 18 will be removed from the community.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Best regards,
The Moderation Team
