Good afternoon
im not the best with money and recently decided to go down the route of an iva or dro, when they are checking my income is my daughters DLA classed as income as this is my daughters
TheCatWoman said:What are iva and dro?
IVA = individual voluntary arrangement (IVA)
see https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/debt-solutions/individual-voluntary-arrangements-ivas/before-you-start-an-iva/check-what-an-iva-is/
DRO = Debt Relief Order (DRO)
see https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-get-a-debt-relief-order-dro
I think Tigernew40 is trying to find out of the Disability Living Allowance is going to be considered income when working out how to cover debts through legal means.
My understanding is that is it classed as a benefit necessary for living so will not be classed as income in the conventional way.
