Good morning all,
Since I last posted here I have been diagnosed with Autism.
I am registered on the homechoice. I am currently living in housing association house but for 2 reasons I would like to move elsewhere.
I spoke to the lady from housing and she said I need to provide them with a documents about my diagnosis and support letter from professionals stating that my accommodation isn't suitable for me.
I don't know how to do it because I have been discharged from CmHT as they cannot accommodate my needs, they don't have anyone specialised in Autism. I have been referred to OT but same they couldn't take me because they are not specialised.
Does anyone else had similar situation, please? Or Admins know anything how I could support my case because I am currently band E which is the last one so no chance for move.
I tried to swap/ mutually exchange but no luck either for over a year now.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
Many thanks and have a lovely day all,
Anna
Have you tried speaking to your doctors surgery? I would have thought that your doctor should be able to provide a letter to say your accommodation isn't suitable, as they have all your health records.
You don't say what your specific needs are, or your age. If you are over a certain age (I think it's 60, or 55 if you are classed as disabled) you should be eligible for sheltered housing - if you are in that age group, it would be worth discussing that with the council.
Hope it all.works.out well
