Question about social skills and social-emotional reciprocity

I started to understand social cues, but I lack social-emotional reciprocity to a mild degree.

Are there any tips to improve my social-emotional reciprocity?

Is social-emotional reciprocity a social skill as well?

  • Cognitive empathy (the ability to understand another person's perspective and feelings) seems to be a problem for autistics. I took an empathy test and scored higher than the neurotypical average for all aspects of empathy, except for cognitive empathy, where I was well below. Improving your ability to recognise emotions in others might be a challenge, but changing your responses should be easier, just copy what other people do, hug, pat hands and make 'there, there' type noises.
