So one of my things as an Autistic person is that I like to help people out, especially when they are financially struggling because to me money is a very insignificant part of life that causes way more problems than it does solve and me just being kind and generous, people want me to change about myself and not do and I just don’t understand why in a world so unkind, especially to us that are Autistic, that would be an issue. Is it just me or is it just infuriating to anyone else and hurtful that people want you to change something that shouldn’t be a problem?
Money is a really difficult issue,
Partly because helping other people out can make them feel beholden to you or like they’re not capable, and partly because “friends” will take advantage of you if they think you’re willing to be financial helpful (my experience anyway).
Oh yeah, I get that about being taken advantage of, I’ve had that happen but feeling beholden to me or not capable is the part I really don’t understand because I don’t want anything but kindness, respect and to be treated right in return. I don’t ever want the money back.
