Advice on how to dress in a rainy, cold climate

Dress well.

I don't know, I am no fashion guru, but something fashionable, warm and comfy.  Don't allow warm and comfortable to go out of the window, so you can project an image of a fashionista.

I like North Face jackets and hoodies, but they've become a bit of a common brand nowadays.  But the goretex jackets tend to be pretty excellent.  That's what i would get, but you are looking at paying for the privilege. 

I tend to buy a lot of my stuff at Decathlon and just buy/wear their own brand clothing and jackets.  I also use the same stuff when doing outdoor stuff.  One of the advantages for me is if they sell a product in my local store, I know I can walk into say the Santander or Madrid (Spain) stores and they will have exactly the same products available.
