MY AUTISTIC HUSBAND

HE HAS BEEN ATTA CKED, BLINDED IN ONE EYE AND HIS AUTISM AND GENERAL HEALTH HAS GOTTEN A LOT WORSE THIS YEAR. HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE MY CARER BUT HE TOTALLY IGNORES ME OR SHOUTS AT ME ALL OF THE TIME. HE CAN BE VERY NEGLECTFUL AND CRUAL.

I AM STRUGGING WITH HIIM AND EVERYTHING.  I HAVE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, INTERSISTIAL LUNG DISEASE, FIBROMYALGIA, BOWEL DISEASE, CHRONIC PAIN, MIRAINES, CHRONIC CHEST INFECTIONS AND DEPRESSION.  MY LIFE IS  HELL AND I CANNOT WAIT FOR IT TO BE OVER.  I TOO WAS STALKED,  HARRASSED AND TERIFIED BY THE SAME MAN.  WE HAVE JUST GOONE TO TRIAL B UT WE GOT NO JUSTICE.

I CANNOT TAKE IT ANYMORE.  I DONT FEEL SAFE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.   I have contacted women's aid to try and get into a refuge, a SAFE HOUSE. I AM AT THE END OF MY TETHER.

  • You are making this first steps towards safety. Remember if you are being abused such as aggressive shouting you can phone the police to come and get you if you feel unsafe and abused, they can help you .

  • You could talk to Victim Support about this.

I agree with Rosie Woman's Aid would be good for you to talk to too.

Sometimes you can just type to Womans aid if you find that you dont want to speak.

  • Dear NAS91874,

I’m sorry you are going through such a tough time, it’s good that you’ve let us know how you feel. Many people have similar thoughts when coping with so much and we hope you’re okay.

Organisations such as Women's Aid or Refuge have confidential helplines with advisors that can provide you with support and someone to talk to.

If you feel like you are struggling to communicate within your relationship, you may like to consider couples counselling. You can find information about this on the NHS website https://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/other-services/Relationship%20counselling/LocationSearch/400

If you are unable to cope with the distress or despair, it’s very important to tell someone about your feelings or thoughts of suicide. Call your GP and make an urgent appointment. Your GP can make sure you get appropriate help and support.

If it’s outside your GP hours call  111 to reach the NHS 111 service:
