Hi neurokin!
For those that are new members, I have recently created my own online autistic community called Autopia! I have created some new posts in the Friendships and Relationships board as well as the Autistic LGBTQIA+ Corner, here is the link if you are interested:
https://autopia.freeforums.net/board/1/general-discussion
Would anyone else like to join Autopia?
Oh ok sorry, I shall try and fix that problem. Thanks for letting me know.
There are technical problems on the link provided - I’ve done a manual search and I still can’t log in to my profile on that site - I’ve used other browsers and other devices, changing my VPN settings and nothing is working
Autopia!
Thanks for the compliment! We can definitely chat more.
You seem like a very nice person, and very much my kind of 'odd'.
Yes because this quote is about reclaiming the word weirdo and also about the importance of finding your common and neurokin which is so important for us autistics.
I find it interesting you refused "autstanding", but got "weirdo" entirely as intended.
Nice explanation! You may like this graphic below, it’s so true:
I'm an aberration in a really burning-hot place. I also have a strange tendency to say something first and find the meaning later. Welcome to being a weirdo.
Thanks. What does your username mean to you?
Alright, well, I was trying to be friendly by throwing puns at you.
I have just researched if there is any difference between the two words and it turns out they are quite similar. I refer to myself as Ausomely Autistic as I want to convey the fact that I have a very positive autistic identity and I want to support my neurokin to feel proud of being autistic in a similar way too. However, I would not refer to myself as outstanding as I am not.
How can you be "ausome", but not "autstanding"? What's the difference/?
I wouldn’t feel comfortable describing myself that way. Would you like to join Autopia?
Well, I thought "autstanding" would be just as applicable, right?
Yes it is, with the emphasis on 'Au' because I am obviously autistic.
It's another superlative like "awesome"?
Thanks! Why is it outstanding?
I'm glad you feel ausome. That's truly autstanding.
