I’m more having a vent more than anything, my good lady is working on Christmas Day morning and all day on Boxing Day, I’m on my own for Boxing Day, last year we invited the whole family for Boxing Day, I cooked for 12, it was quite hard for me. I always invite my mother for Christmas Day, we do every year, my siblings always seem to have other guests, mother has been invited to a get together on Boxing Day at my sisters, I’ve had no invites to go anywhere. Too be honest I wouldn’t want to go, they all know I’m on my own, I just don’t understand how mean people can be.
Im not after sympathy, I just really have had enough of the human race.
I can relate to your vent. Sometimes, it's just nice to be asked, even if there's a good chance we will decline the invitation.
Don't worry, Bro. People have more issues than The Lancet!
I have my Wee Princess with me, here!

Hi Roy
We will be here for you! We can provide some virtual company, you are not alone.
At least you'll have your wife around some of the time. Some of us will be completely alone for the entire holiday.
Use the extra alone time to recharge and fuel up on your favourite Christmas snacks
In my town a local pub is doing a free Christmas meal for lonely people. You have to book in advance. Is there something in your area like that?
That's really mean to be left out.
I was just about to log off my PC and try to do something sensible and this popped up so I just wanted to say I'm sorry to read it.
If it makes you feel any better, it's very similar in my family.
These things should be reciprocal, but aren't.
