Why is autism so debilitating

Why is autism so debilitating yet not need fixing?

  • The level of debility autism causes, varies greatly between people and over time within the same person. The argument would be, that, as autism cannot be 'cured', efforts should be made to change the environment that autistic people exist in, so that their autism becomes less debilitating.
