It is time to lawyer up.

This is serious stuff and you will need a lawyer who has experience in handling diasability discrimination. A quick search online gave this list:

    https://www.disabilityjustice.org.uk/where-to-find-legal-advice/find-a-solicitor/

I have no connection to the company but they are a .ORG site so are non profit I believe.

It sounds to me that the council are not very well informed about autism and are using stereotypes to inform their decision making process. The fact that they are ignoring the advice of specialists is a worrying development.

There may be a detail in your case that has triggered this and understanding this is something the lawyer should be able to help with.

If the council are just being a bunch of stuffed shirts over this then you can use the lawyer to secure your rights, get the council to act according to the expert advice and probably also get a payout for the distress they have caused you.

    Good luck
