Autism Show

I've been quiet for a while. Own stuff to deal with, but I'll catch up soon.

Meanwhile have any of you been to the Autism Show? I went today at the NEC Brum. Anyone else? What was your best 'take away?'

  • I went to one in Manchester last year. I'm not sure how you would go about making a conference/exposition event autism-friendly, but they certainly had not achieved it. I thought it was heavily weighted towards children and professionals connected with autism. There were sessions by and about adult autistic people, which were interesting and a small minority of the stalls were good - mostly the ones with books. I went with my autistic daughter, while I was more used to the environment, having attended many conferences with my work, she felt quite overwhelmed after a few hours.

  • A bit more adult focused I thought this time
