Living with ASD and having peronal space, struggling to provide that

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this as I am new here.

I have a son with ASD and other special needs and I am really struggling with the current accomodation where we live.

I know a few people who managed to fight for a bedroom for a child with ASD so they dont have to share with sibling/s. I think it would make like so much easier on all of us if that was the norm, but it's not.

My son needs overnight care, he is awake a lot of the time too. He is sharing a room with his brother and its getting harder and harder. If he had his own room and his own personal space I think he would be much calmer. Also my other son is suffering as being woken up at night, he gets hit and pinched a lot, hair pulled all while he sleeps. Its not good for either one of them.

Has anyone applied to the council for the extra bedroom and got granted it? How did you do it? I have tried and every time we get turned away saying it appropriate for them to share.

I dont know where else to turn so I thought I ask here as am at my witts end now.
