Weighing up whether or not to get an advocate

It's proving impossibly hard to articulate things to my parents about me & my autism.

Some background - I'm 25, was diagnosed when I was 8. I still feel it's not understood. My parents weren't born in the UK so a very different culture surrounded their upbringing.

It can feel a bit suffocating when you're not exactly the most assertive person, or a good explainer. I always come away from conversations (with most people) being like "why didn't I mention that?".

I do want to get better at all that but it feels like a losing battle.

Advocacy services having a long waiting list isn't the most ideal either.
