Only making a new thread as the other one is locked. Hi Rosiemod, just wondered why the target age range for Exploring the Language & Communication Profiles of autistic Women and Girls stops at 25? Genuinely interested as to why please? I can see you've stated that young womanhood is a time of key changes in emotions bit this is wrong.
There are many key changes that affect women's emotional states and that can be debilitating if you're autistic as well, and those happen through adulthood. I could list them but surely they are obvious ?
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, miscarriage, the main bulk of caring duties for others including elderly parents, career breaks/careers being held back because of childcare problems which falls predominantly on women, gynaecological problems/cancer, perimenopause, higher risk of dementia, emotional effects of loss of self image/esteem, societal pressures....if I've missed some, please do add more !
I don't think it's helpful to cut off women at 25. It's ageist.
Hello grooveisintheheart
