Weekend break in London with ASC 6-y-o: suggestions please!

I have visited a number of attractions in London over the years. I remember visiting the Science Museum during my school days, and it was a very good learning experience. It also made a very welcome change from being stuck in a school classroom for hours.

A few years ago, whilst doing one of my job roles, I visited the Natural History Museum. However, having done a site visit earlier that day, there wasn't much time to have a proper look around. The place was one of those places where you would pretty much need to allow several hours for a proper guided tour. My experience there was fascinating, but there were long queues of people, and where there's young children, that can sometimes means lots of noise. Having to wait in a long queue in such a noisy, echoey environment can overwhelm me, whether it's in a museum, a railway station, a bus station or whatever.

As for the suggestions for things to see or do in London, I would suggest a sightseeing tour of some description. There should be one or two sightseeing bus companies that could do Christmas sightseeing tours of London, possibly from outside Victoria railway station. There may be some river cruises operating before Christmas as well. But I would highly recommend going on the London Eye, which is near Waterloo railway station. The views of London from the sky would look fantastic, whether it's during the day, or in the evening. You could even have a nice lunch or evening meal on the London Eye.

From my experience, a sightseeing bus, a river cruise or the London Eye should be a little less noisy, if still a little busy at times. If your hotel was within relatively easy travelling distance from Victoria or Waterloo, by bus, train, underground or whatever, hopefully any of my suggestions will come in handy for you.
