Singing all the time

I have just been listening to some old tapes of myself singing age 3. I had a huge repertoire of songs, which I sang repeatedly and from memory: Pease porridge hot; pop goes the weasel; hush little baby; humpty dumpty; hot cross buns etc. as well as little stories. I kept on quoting snippets from the stories in my conversation, and relating things to songs and stories, as in ' '(Hope) was born a little girl, and girl's are made of sugar and spice and all things nice'. I sang the songs really loud, and seemed to tell the stories in the 'correct' way, putting emphasis on the key words. I seemed to be incredibly talkative for a three year old.

I have been told that I was a very early reader, but this was the first time that I heard it for myself. Is a preoccuptation with singing songs all the time and quoting stories a lot in conversation a feature in Aspergers children? When listening to the tape, I was analysing it, wondering if any parts of it were coloured by my then undiagnosed Aspergers.

I also had an hysterical laugh!
