Is it normal for people with Aspergers Syndrome to do the following?

  • Talk over top of people when they are speaking on the phone or to someone else in the same room?
  • actively listen to conversations that aren't involving you?
  • have poor social skills when interacting with people?
  • keep talking when people tell you to be quiet?
  • actively listen at certain key words that are mentioned during a conversation for seemingly no reason?

I keep getting told that I should do a course in social skills, but I don't know if this is the right way to go about things

  • Oh yes, 86260, I am talented in all those 'arts'.

My personal speciality is in not picking up when someone is trying to end a conversation with me, I just miss all their signals, verbal and otherwise, and carry on talking whilst wishing I knew how to end the dialogue.

Eventually, of course, they resort to the kind of rudeness that only the normies can.

    It's all very perplexing.

    Ben.
