Hi, my 19yr old son ( who incidentally has an identical twin brother who was diagnosed with Autism 2years ago) has recently started to suffer more than ever with his anxiety and decided with some of the things he was doing, a couple of examples: like leaving friends in mid conversation, to not being able to read a train timetable, monotone voice, could possibly be autistic and had just been mirroring me ( his mom) for the last few years. So my son went to the drs and has been referred for an Autism assessment which will take over a year or more. He is very down at the moment and has been missing college. I don’t think he can think clearly enough to attend. I will be making another drs appointment but in the meantime what else is there for young adults caught in limbo. Any advice would be great fully received?
