Petition- reverse the changes to Sirona autism assessment

Hello fellow autistic people! Below I have posted a link to a petition to stop the changes to the Sirona autism assessment criteria. The changes to the assessment criteria mean that only autistic people in crisis can be referred for formal identification. Autistic identification should be a positive and an affirming experience- please read more in the link below:

Thanks!

  • i dont get the petition.. it was made by a grifter by the looks of it

"This risks deepening class, gender and race inequalities in accessing an autism assessment, potentially amounting to discrimination."

why did they need to put this in? it doesnt do that, but the person that made this is used to tacking this line onto everything to weaponise this type of thing and force their way, its insincere and wrong of them. and doesnt make sense as it isnt race gender or class based it is just that anyone in crisis will be assessed, unless they are then being racist classist or sexist by saying only a certain race class or gender is ever in crisis and no one else is? ... see this makes it confusing how they tack that line onto everything but we see they do it to as weaponisation. its a bit childish and amateur of them and makes their entire argument fall apart and become insincere and false.

.....but anyway.. sorry about that i see things/mistakes like that and have to point them out lol
id probably actually support the petition, but as it is today i dont think they are diagnosing good enough as already we have a fail to diagnose in many cases, so even now our system isnt good enough at providing assessment and finding these people that need help that are largely going under the radar.

edit: given the words race, class and gender were hyperlinked to a university of york page, its no doubt a student probably did this and that is why it was this way, it is a lazy student that copy pastes the same old stuff rather than wording things themselves... this is a big problem i see in many places today, people dont word things themselves, as if they have no passion or sincerity on topics. if they really cared they would be able to word things themselves and not copy paste things. all of my writing im doing here is my own words, because i feel and experience and am sincere and have my own opinion and it isnt some forced student work with no soul. if it was up to me id fail that student on everything until they stop copy pasting things from the internet and can write their own words and essays themselves from their own soul and mind.

It sounds like the kind of wording you might use if you were going to challenge a local government  decision on PSED (public sector equality grounds).

so as far as I can tell sirona is a company spun out by a local nhs CCG to provide autism related diagnostic services. The equality act gives government bodies a legal duty to take equality into account and the duty probably extends to sirona if it’s wholly nhs funded / controlled.

if a government body ignores PSED you can usually get a judicial review (it’s very expensive unless you can get legal aid). This is the sort of language you might use arguing a PSED case.
