Two questions in one post

I’ve noticed that I’ve strangely began almost mimicking a friends laugh and was wondering if it’s a trait of autism?

I also went to my GP a while back and had to fill out the "Autism Spectrum Quotient" but have began to wonder what the next step for getting an official assessment and diagnosis.

  • Hi, personally I think mimicking is a trait of autism, it’s something I’ve always been very good, only my opinion but it’s how we try to blend in and mask, a bit like being a Chameleon.  Have a look at echolalia.

As to your second question, I had the same happen to me, I heard nothing for months, I sent a message through the NHS APP to my GP, amazingly more forms arrived within 48 hours. These forms get returned to the assessment team, I wouldn’t leave it too long if I was you, the waiting list is only getting longer.
