Two questions in one post

I’ve noticed that I’ve strangely began almost mimicking a friends laugh and was wondering if it’s a trait of autism?

I also went to my GP a while back and had to fill out the "Autism Spectrum Quotient" but have began to wonder what the next step for getting an official assessment and diagnosis.

  • 1) I mimick people all the time - not sure if it's an autistic trait but I certainly cannot help it so who knows.

    2) Did you ask your GP to refer you to your local NHS autism team?  That was my next step, but my GP forgot to do the referral, luckily I was able to self refer to our local area.  The self referral form I filled in was quote extensive, then I was given pre-assessment screener before being assessed formally and diagnosed.
