Two questions in one post

I’ve noticed that I’ve strangely began almost mimicking a friends laugh and was wondering if it’s a trait of autism?

I also went to my GP a while back and had to fill out the "Autism Spectrum Quotient" but have began to wonder what the next step for getting an official assessment and diagnosis.

  • For your second question, I, and I believe most of us, got our diagnosis in a hospital with professionals who confirmed of our autism. Maybe whatever result you get, your GP will recommend you to another doctor.

As for your first question, I am not certain: I want to say yes because I do that too. A friend was always apologising and my mother was the one to notice I was doing it too. Try to consider it as stress in social situations or maybe a lack of confidence. I was a bit of the second one, admitting it to me helped the mimicking. although if someone has a better explanation I am all ears.
