I am very heartbroken with a story that happened to a young child with Autism 2 years ago in England. This child was only 12 years old . She was raped by a boy from school. She also cut herself. Her mom said they went to the Police Department to report what happened to her daughter . The Police convinced the child that it would be her word against the boy . The girl got upset and walked out . The girl was also jumped after school three times and video taped by the bullies . She was cyber bullied . This child took her own life . The Police Department failed to protect this child with Autism . They need to be retain on how to work with people with Mental Health and rape victims . They need to do better. This is unacceptable. I am very passionate because I have a Nephew with Autism. I refuse to allow anyone to treat him in that manner . Where is their rights ? If the Police do not protect our kids with Autism or Mental Health who will ? We need to protect them .
