The Autism Show 2023

Just bought my tickets for the show in London in June. Have been meaning to go for a number of years.

I could not find a ticket for autistic adults that wasn't a concession? A concession is not applicable to me, so wasn't sure which type of ticket to buy. Please could you advise. In the end, I went for family member/carer as I'm not going as a healthcare professional.

UPDATED: Just noticed the comma in the concession ticket. So that is the ticket I could have got even though I don't get DLA or PIP?

I'm looking forward to it, but not quite sure what to expect.

Anyone who's been before, I'd be interested in any pointers.

Thanks

  • I went and was surprised by how unhelpful it was to autistic people. It was all too much for me. There wasn't enough info before hand and when I was there I had to ask a member of staff to be let into the quiet room. I will not be returning.  It seemed like it was made for NTs not autistic people.

  • Thank you for your comment. I had looked into it and the London venue. The first thing that concerned me was the big venue. Then reading your comment made me realise even more that I would find it difficult and stressful.

When I was doing better years ago, I could manage going to an occasional conference or exhibition if I pre-planned the lectures on offer and kept to myself, finding an empty spot to eat. I didn't like walking around looking at the stands, way too many people and too much noise.

I don't understand why an Autism conference isn't set up to enable Autistic people to attend and benefit from it?? I'm new here and I wonder if there are online "conferences"?
