Help please! Providing proof

Hello,

I’m trying to find out if there is any specific documentation that I can have/will need to prove the diagnosis. For example; I am looking to visit numerous concerts, theme parks and so on, but am struggling with the crowds and spaces. I recently went to a concert with a standard ticket, but I started to panic half way through. Luckily, the staff were very understanding and allowed me to sit in the disabled area for the rest of the concert.

To book tickets in the future, if I was looking to book disabled tickets instead of standard, I’m unsure of the proof I would need. I know someone who is 16, (I am 26 by the way) and has a card stating his diagnosis and that allows him to get the accessibility he requires. Where would I go for something like this if I can?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • dunno i never go out or bother with putting myself in these places anyway. kinda makes sense to avoid places that bother you no?

  • Not when I enjoy the experience and shouldn't have to miss out on things I want to do when I can easily have adjustments made to suit my needs? I don't think that makes sense for me personally. If not going into these situations suits you and is what's best for you, then I think it's great that you've recognised this for yourself. However, to assume that's what makes sense for everyone else who want to go out and do things is wrong. No hate, just wanted to let you see it from a different perspective! :)

  • Caelus, if you ever find your self on the highstreet with time on your hands passing a "HI-FI" shop pop in and ask them if they can let you hear a pair of electrostatic speakers.

Don't immediately commit to buying from them though if you are as impressed as some people are when they hear ESL's.

I know a firm that remakes them carefully and well, and I'm asking Si (name obscured) if I can get a "discount code" for anyone who I refer..

  • aye understandable.

but i think part of going to those places is the big loud crowds. and glastonbury for the mud and ruining a perfectly good field apparently lol

otherwise i dont think i understand music festivals and concerts apart from that. although im probably a extreme shut in, id see that staying in with your own music system and sound bars and control of the tunes in your own safe isolated flat is better, so long as your perhaps dont blast next door neighbours too much lol....but to be fair i think my next door neighbours would deserve it after they spent a month of doing diy and construction at 11.30 at night lol
