Hi - I have a question... I am waiting for an ASD assessment. My understanding was that it would be a single assessment appointment with a verbal indication and a report to follow. However, having read other people's posts there seems to be mention of a second assessment with someone who knows you? I am hoping to clarify if that's the norm, as I like to know what will happen. The observer report has been completed and sent off, but I'm not sure I have anybody I could take with me to an assessment. Wave

  • Hello. I had my diagnosis last week and besides filling out some forms/questionnaires there were two assessment appointments. The first was a psychologist interviewing my mother regarding her observations of me during childhood. The second was a face to face interview with myself by a psychiatrist. I then received a verbal diagnosis followed by a lengthy report. It was stated beforehand that if I had no one available who knew me in childhood they would also conduct an ADOS assessment to get around this. 
    I had a private assessment.
