Losing things and memory problems

Does anyone else have a problem with losing things? I am forever losing things, and I mean big things as well as little things. I have terrible memory loss where I always forget to pick things up and take them home and can never remember where I put things

In the last 2 months I have lost a laptop, my i phone and my ear buds as well as other things. Sometimes I just forget to pick things up but other times I have actual memory blanks where I have no memory of what I did with something, like the laptop. I put in the car when my wife picked me up but when we got home at the end of the day it wasnt there and I have no memory of what I did with it.

It all got better for a while but lately it has been the worst I have ever experienced in my life. Im kind of scared cos I dont know what Im going to lose next and I seem to have no way of controlling it. There doesnt seem to be anything I can do about it. Ive tried having boxes and places for things but it seems to happen most when I go out. Today I left my i phone and coat at 5 a side football

Has anyone else been through this and if so what helped?

  • One thing I learned a few years back is that whenever you pass through a doorway or portal of some sort, your Brain seems to reset it's short term memory in some way. As an aircraft engineer requiring a new consumable item from stores, I could pass through two doorway before leaving the aeroplane, then the stores door, giving me THREE opportunities to forget what the hell it was I needed.

Then I learned about the doorway thing well enough, to pause outside of the aeroplane and make sure I still knew what the mission was. if you've just passed through a doorway when you've forgotten where your keys ae, retrace your steps quickly back through the portal and it may come back to you.

I've got the same problem here, 3 doors between me and our living space...
