Conversations

I’m wondering if anybody else has this problem. When I’m conversing with somebody it’s going along fine and then they’ll say something that interests me and my mind starts to go off on it.  Meanwhile they’re still talking and I’ve missed the following sentence or two. I don’t know if this is just poor listening skills or an attention span or an autism thing? Actually it can with almost anything. I’m in my head with my own thoughts probably too much when I shouldn’t be. This might be a ridiculous question but I’m finding some of this somewhat nebulous.

  • Thank you all for the replies. It’s helping me decide if this is relevant to me. I’ve always ‘felt’ there was something different about me. A gf once ‘accused’ me of being autistic which I vehemently denied. Fast forward a few years, take the AQ test and can’t get below 33 to save my life! But that doesn’t confirm anything for me so I guess I’ll keep hiding in the weeds around here gaining intel.Slight smile
