Conversations

I’m wondering if anybody else has this problem. When I’m conversing with somebody it’s going along fine and then they’ll say something that interests me and my mind starts to go off on it.  Meanwhile they’re still talking and I’ve missed the following sentence or two. I don’t know if this is just poor listening skills or an attention span or an autism thing? Actually it can with almost anything. I’m in my head with my own thoughts probably too much when I shouldn’t be. This might be a ridiculous question but I’m finding some of this somewhat nebulous.

  • I do this, I do it in a variety of other situations too. Watching films is sometimes really difficult. Unless I seriously focus on what I’m doing my train of thought is completely hijacked. It’s like a speed train, with no stops and it’s usually on the wrong track. It really is frustrating.
