QOCS to discrimination!

So there is a petition on the parliament website to change the rules on funding and costs when people sue for discrimination. As some of you know I run a kind of autism civil rights website which is supporting the campaign to get this rule changed. You can see the campaign here.

We're calling it QOCS to discrimination because QOCS is the rule for costs in personal injury cases we want applied to discrimination cases (under the equality act). QOCS is the reason you can get no win no fee lawyers in personal injury cases. Basically the QOCS rule (which stands for qualified one way cost shifting) means if you loose you don't have to pay for the lawyer of what ever big company you sued.

The government was sued in 2020 for not applying QOCS to discrimination cases and the excuse they gave was that they hadn't made up their minds whether or not to apply QOCS to discrimination cases or not. So if we can get enough signatures to force the government to make a statement or better a debate in parliament it might help put pressure on them to come out one way or another on the matter.

I strongly encourage you all to sign this petition, share the campaign page as far and wide as possible and please feel free to contribute any ideas for spreading the campaign. Especially those of you who are social media savy or with a graphic design background.
