Post ADOS test - Time till verbal confirmation?

I know this is probably unhelpful, but I had my assessment today (along side the phonecall to family member), and I was told by 3 different people that the verbal confirmation would happen that day.

The time for said call was changed 3 times, then the call to inform me was 30 minutes late and they said they needed more time.

Tbh, this has just made me much more anxious than I already was, especially after years of trying to get this sorted. All my brain can throw out at me is very much a 'the longer the wait the less likely a positive response would be'. It doesn't help that the plans changed so much and I've been waiting and in stasis for calls basically all day.

Just wondering if anyone had a general average for the verbal confirmation, or their experience with it taking like a week to confirm/otherwise.

Trying to put my mind at ease, and google has not helped me at all... :')

Also hello! first post!

Update: as of today my verbal feedback is now booked for the 20th, but thats all i know. which again, feels like such a long time to wait for verbal confirmation or 'rejection' for lack of a better word.

  • Hi,

Does it depend on where you are?

I've just waited 4 weeks from face to face assessment to going through final draft meeting yesterday with diagnosis.

This is North Staffordshire and they did inform me it would take several weeks to discuss, write up etc before calling me back in.
