My mum is due to have a Carer's Assessment as she cares for me etc.
But she is also disabled herself and so should she also/or have a Community Care Assessment on herself. This is the one usually done on the person needing care. I'm having this, but that's a post for another day.
Our issues with the council are that they don't have to provide services to carers so that assessment could just become another bunch of useless paper, whereas at least with the community assessment they have to provide services if the person meets the council's criteria.
My questions are:
1. Has anyone had either assessment and what kind of support they recieved?
2. How you or others have gone about getting the support you need, if you didn't get it first time round?
