To qualify as specific learning disorder your impairment would have to be in one fairly narrow area, eg dyslexia. If your impairment was sevear and across a wide range of cognitive skills it probably would be ID not SpLD.
I don’t know how you define adaptive functioning. I’m assuming it’s similar to executive functioning? But as an autistic person with, what I was told was, sevear dyslexia, I think very few would mistake me for someone with ID.
