Diagnosed at 50 but GP not informed

Hi;

I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Condition) in October 22 (Lancashire Autism Service).

They spoke to me via video call to go through how and why they came to this diagnosis and I recieved a copy of the report.

They told me I would also get a copy of the letter they would send to my GP but i have not recieved this and so decided to call my GP. They have not recieved any letter from Lancashire Autism Service about this. Lancashire Autism Service has now closed and i am unable to contact them. I'm not sure what to do now if I need to do anything. Does my GP need confrimation for my health records? or do I just take a copy of the letter to them.

  • Just for clarification, do you have access to your GP's online services? If so, is it not showing on there?

    I would send a copy of your full report otherwise, they should not refuse a medical report. It may have been a miscommunication between Lancashire Autism Service and your GP or they might not of had your permission on record for them to send a copy of this across.

  • My brief experience using this service was extremely poor. I wouldn't be surprised if it was miscommunication, or complete loss of records. I rang up to chase something up, after many times waiting for an answer, was told "I dont know, everythings in a mess". I read in the press that their services are hopefully going to be transferred to another service.
