Hi all.

First of all, I am a diagnosed Autistic, I received my diagnosis at age 18 after waiting from age 16.

I am just wondering for those of you unemployed and not in education, what helps you stay occupied during the day? I am in the same boat and whilst I have attempted to work, things went terribly wrong. I also tried out a college course a few years ago but got told by quite an awful teacher and principal to never come back. I am not fit for work anyway due to other conditions but we won't get in to that!

I obviously have my own intense interests, which I am sure many of you do too. I just want to challenge myself to do something else alongside this, I enjoy to do things by myself too. I am also a member of a number of other forums in which I actively get involved, I tend to offer advice on welfare benefits but I do get involved in most other discussions more.

I look forward to contributing on here and I hope I am accepted too.

  • Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I apologise this message is 2 days later, I was struck down with a massive cold after posting. Getting better now though gladly, yesterday was awful.

Tomorrow is a new day anyway. Quite challenging for me as I have to visit my GP for a routine blood test etc, I will come on again in the afternoon after and get involved in other peoples discussions.

    Speak soon.
