Although travelling first class or similar when travelling where available, with or without a chaperone, on flights, ferries, trains and coaches between the U.K. and Ireland, I’m wondering which of these are the most Autism friendly, especially if you don’t know what you need and/or should be looking for - after my own experience with the train strike in October 2022 that saw me stranded in Holyhead for 2 days and unable to get back to Manchester on my return from Dublin on Irish Ferries, and learning of flight disruption to senior team in the precarious post-Covid era given also that the Irish government wants to ban short haul flights between the U.K. and Ireland due to EU climate change rules - I’m usually very stressed when travelling home to Ireland (would sooner get the longer crossing by coach/train from Manchester - Liverpool - Dublin, despite the 8 hour crossing, as opposed to 3 hours from Holyhead - Dublin) and even though everyone wants me to fly - and almost seeks to bully me into doing so, believing that I should be (made) to do so - certainly I need a seamless journey, no rushing about, direct trains/coaches where possible, no hassle, quiet spaces, no long walks along huge station platforms when carrying suitcase, help with luggage loading onto trains - Manchester Piccadilly is a nightmare when coming from the Metrolink trams up to Platform 13 after getting tickets/info - TfW and Avanti almost never have direct trains to Holyhead, only via Chester, Crewe or Llandno - when one gets to Dublin (North Wall) it’s a pain as transport options, not even LUAS into Dublin are very limited (I wish ferries would use Dun Laoire to make use of DART into Dublin) and I’ve written to all of them
