Anyone else live in a small space?

Hi I rent a small studio flat.

I like it, but it does have its challenges, for example I do like clothes, and I am doing a clear out just now, will be selling some of them to make a bit more space in here. I also take DVDs out of their holders and give the empty ones away to whoever wants them and put the DVDs into those DVD wallet books very space saving, I have the whole Star Trek and STNG in just one of the books.

One thing I feel is that my old school friends all live in big houses or bigger flats, and well I feel that if ever I get around to inviting people up here they might turn their noses up at my wee flat. I do intend on getting a wall up to split it so I get a tiny tiny bedroom and then there will be a cosy small living area. I like the area I am in. And if I lived in London then this would be the norm, as lots of people live in studios in London and in Paris they are seen as chic. I actually decorated mine in a Paris and New York style (New York has lot of Studio Flats).

Here is a studio flat youtube tour of one of my favourite studio flats (not mine off course)I just like this one:

My flat is bigger, and I feel lucky to have my flat. Small spaces are cosy.

Just wonder who else has a small space to live in and what you feel are your happy points of points you feel are challenging? Any space saving tips you have to share?

Just would love a wee natter on here about small spaces.

  • 250 square feet is a luxury. My previous was that size but without heating, so I decided to move again, into shared with my friend 2 bedroom flat. But I lived in smaller ones. 250 is spacious, and if you have a separate kitchen you can cook freely without worrying about moisture and fat setting on everything. But I like to have a hot tub where you can stretch and spend an hour soaking. Previous studio had a tiny tub only, big no on top of no heating. I could even keep my bicycle and a bench I used for weightlifting to excercise.

  • That is good that you share with your friend and have found a happy place to settle. Yes I lived in a much smaller place myself, I moved as the neighbours were not good and I did not like sharing a bathroom.
